When the Sun meets the Moon

Chapter 4:

Told in Josh's POV:

"You feeling ok?" I asked. We've been walking for a while, and Luno was pretty quiet. "It's just... I'm not really used to be on someone's shoulder..." He said. I smiled. "I never did that... Never..." "You're strong." I suddenly said. "W-What?" "I said, you're strong. You're brave, and you have guts. You won't give up easily." I looked at him, and he looked at me. "Wha-How..." "I can see it." I said. "You didn't give up when that Lucario grabbed you. You struggled. You wanted to be free." I felt Luno nodded. "You're powerful." I finally said.

"T-Thanks..." He mumbled. "...I know Assurance, Shadow Ball, Quick attack-" "I don't need to know everything." I said. "You can keep it for yourself." There was a silence, and I looked around, more than I ever did. I saw trees, a path, bushes. Some daisies. And if I'd look carefully, I'd see some Pokemon. Now and then, people said 'Hi' when they walked by. Except one.

A Youngster.

"Hey! Hey!" He yelled. "Hi, I'm Nick! You wanna battle? You've got a Pokemon on your shoulder! Let's battle!" Before I could refuse, he pulled out his Poké Ball and sent out a Pidgeot. "Luno?" I asked. "Uh... Sure." He said after hesitating. I nodded. I knew his moves, this should be going right.

"Ok Luno! Use Confuse Ray!" If he could learn Assurance, he also could have learned Confuse Ray. Luno closed his eyes and sent a little yellow ball towards the Pidgeot, who became confused. "All right!" I exclaimed. Luno seemed happy. Nick seemed to panic a little. "Pidgeot! Use Sky Drop!" But all the Pidgeot could do was stand there, he was completely confused. "Luno! Let's use a Quick Attack!" Unfortunately it missed. "Pidgeot! Use Gust!" Pidgeot flapped it's wings, creating gusts of wind. Sand got stuck on his face. "Luno! Try using a Quick Attack again!" This time it did hit. The Pidgeot fell on the ground, and it didn't get up, due to it's confusion. "Pidgeot!" "Luno, you're doing great! Let's finish it with a Shadow Ball attack!" And that was it. Nick's Pidgeot fainted, and we won.

"Y-You're strong..." He mumbled when we shook hands. "Not me. Luno is strong." I looked at him, he jumped back on my shoulder again. Nick grabbed Pidgeot's Poké Ball from his belt. "Pidgeot, return!" He said. The red ray of light surrounded the Pidgeot, as it got put back in it's Poké Ball again. "Why won't you put him back in it's Poké Ball?" "Umm..." My voice trembled a little, Nick thought Luno was my Pokemon? "I...He doesn't like to be in his Poké Ball." I lied. "Oh, well... That's...odd..." Nick said. "Hey! You wanna be friends?" I blinked a little. "Uh... sure." I said. "Let's exchange phone numbers! I'll call you for a chat, every once and a while." We exchanged phone numbers, and Nick gave me a few berries. "Well... I gotta go again!" Nick jumped up. "Sure I'll see you again!" I gave him a quizzical look. "What do you-" Nick laughed. "You'll see soon enough..." He walked away, leaving me and Luno alone.

"What was that about?" He asked. "...I'm not sure." I said. "Let's get going." We started walking again, and soon enough my Xtranceiver rang. The little screen said mom was calling. "Hello?" I said.

"Josh. I just want to let you know Solé will be laying outside in the sun on a garden chair." "What? Why?" I asked. "Solé is an Espeon, a sun Pokemon. The best way to let her wounds heal is to-" "Let her lay in the sun." I said. "Yes. I just wanted to warn you. They predicted it's going to be sunny all day." "Ok, mom. Bye." I hung up.

"That was fun, wasn't it?" Luno suddenly said. During the whole conversation he was quiet. "Sorry, what?" "The battle." He said with a smile. "I really liked it." I smiled. "Me to. I'm glad you enjoyed it." Luno smiled again. I felt something drip on my shoulder. Water. "Uh oh..." I mumbled. "What's-" Luno stared up to the sky, it turned all gray. Before we knew it, it started to hail. "Oh no..." He mumbled as well. "Let's run!" I ran ahead, Luno following me closely.

Told in Lily's POV:

"And what about you, RaiRai?" I said to my Raichu doll. "Would you like a cup of tea as well?" "Rai Rai!!" I giggled. I poured some tea in the cup, and shove it to RaiRai. "Here you go. It's lemon tea!" I held up his head, pretending he'd drink it. "Mmm! That's very good!" I made RaiRai say. I giggled again.

"Lil, I'm going to get some groceries. I'll be back!" "Ok mommy!" I yelled down the stairs. "Remember! Solé is outside. When it starts raining, you should get her inside, ok?" "Ok!" I yelled. I heard a door shut. I got up and ran down the stairs, to the kitchen and grabbed some cookies from the cookie jar. I ran back upstairs with the cookies in my hand. "Now, RaiRai... where were we?" At that moment I heard something tapping the window. I carefully looked out the window. Hail...

"Oh no!!" I exclaimed, running down the stairs. I hoped she was ok... I didn't even take the time to put on shoes or something. I ran straight outside. Solé lied on a towel on the garden chair, which was soaked by now from the rain. She shivered and desperately tried to get off the chair. "Oh Solé!" I exclaimed. I carefully picked her up. She tried to escape from my grasp, but I didn't let her. I carefully pet her, avoiding her back. "It's ok... I'll get you inside..." I tried to comfort her. She looked up to me with her big blue eyes.

"I'm almost sure you don't know me... I'm Lily, Josh's younger sister." I said. "I'm only ten, but I love Pokemon as much as my mom and brother." Solé still looked at me as if she didn't understand me completely. I smiled and carried her inside. I carried her all the way to the room for 'sick' Pokemon. There still was a bed free. I lied Solé on the bed first, grabbed a clean towel, laid it on the bed and put Solé on it. I carefully tried to unwrap the bandage on Solé's back, which was wet as well. She cringed in pain. "I'm sorry... But it has to come off..." I whispered. Solé tried to relax so I could take off the bandage. I got it off without hurting her anymore.

"There!" I said pretty satisfied. "It's done." Solé gave me a smile. I put on a new bandage and laid a blanket over her. "Wait. I think I got something you'll like..." I said. I ran upstairs again, and grabbed my little bag with dress up clothes. I ran down again and opened the bag. I grabbed the silky lila scarf and the three white bracelets. I put the scarf around her neck and put the bracelets around her paw. They fit perfectly. I sat beside her and picked her up. I carefully laid her on my lap and started petting her again. She purred a little. "You like it?" I asked. Solé was about to nod or something when I heard someone say my name: "Lily!"

Told in Luno's POV:

"We're almost there!!" Josh panted. I nodded to him. It still hailed, but it started to turn into rain. I looked forward again, we were close to Josh's house. "Mom said...Solé would be...outside..." I nodded again, building up a little more speed. We finally came to the open spot where Josh's house was. I looked around, to see an empty garden chair.

"B-But..." I said. "Lily..." "What?" I said when Josh ran inside. "Josh!!" I followed him through the house, coming to the same room where I was earlier that day. I slipped into the door that Josh opened. I saw a little girl with Solé on her lap. "Lily!" He said. "Hi Josh!" She said happily. She carefully put Solé down again and gave him a hug. "Look! I got Solé out of the rain. I changed her bandage, I laid a blanket over her, and I gave her a scarf, and I even petted her!" She started talking. "I gave her a lila scarf and three white bracelets, is that ok? I think she likes it!!" I stopped listening and jumped on the bed and laid down beside her. "You ok?" I asked. She nodded. "She's very nice and cute." She whispered. I smiled a little and hugged Solé. "...And she purred when I petted her, and-" "Ok, ok!" Josh almost laughed. "Lil, thanks a lot." She smiled. "Can I have some candy? Josh, pleeeeaaaase?" She squealed. He stroke her hair. "One." He said. She smiled and left the room.

"Solé? Are you feeling ok?" He asked. I felt Solé nod. He sat beside us. "I'm glad you're both feeling ok. Luno, you sure you don't want a bandage or something?" I shook my head. "I'm ok." I said. Josh nodded. "Well... I guess I'll leave you alone then..." He walked out of the door. I felt Solé coming a little closer to me. "I'm glad you're here..." She whispered in my ear. I admit I blushed. "You've got a little dirt on your face..." She said. She wiped it off with her paw. "From the battle, I think..." I replied. Solé looked at me quizzically. "What battle?" She laid her paw on mine. I smiled and started telling the story. The encounter with Tim, the way back, the phone call, and the battle with Nick. "And when that Pidgeot used Gust..." I stopped automatically. Solé was sleeping, her paw still laying on mine. I smiled and laid down beside her. I realized it was dark by now.

"Goodnight Solé..." I whispered before I closed my eyes.
